  • where it is not now alright so we're just gonna go down to start and then
  • settings and then we're gonna go down to update and security now ordinarily this
  • is where the option to disable the automatic updates would actually be okay
  • but unfortunately, as it is no longer actually here all right options gone so to get sable automaticupdating feature alright first approach
  • I'm going to show you will apply to
  • Windows Home & professional ok theThe second approach will only apply to
  • professional ok home professional
  • alright we're gonna do is simply go down to search and type in control and then
  • Click on the control panel desktop app at the top of the results once the
  • control panel opens you're gonna go up to the upper right where it says view
  • by and you're gonna change that to large icons ok next after you done so he's
  • gonna go ahead and click administrative Tools right here alright
  • next after that, you're going to locate services down the list double click on
  • that dance cute it alright once the
  • services window opens well the services
  • snap-in scroll all the way down on the
  • bottom and locate the Windows Update
  • service over on the left so we're gonna double click it alright now this thisexit controls the windows updates alright so to stop it from doing the
  • automatic updates just simply click stop ok now if you just do it this way it only applies to the local session ok but if you want to permanently disable the
  • automatic updating go up to startup type and select disable ok
  • and then just ok out of this all right you can see down here now where it says
  • it's actually disabled ok and this will apply immediately after you do it ok now
  • if you ever want to real able the
  • automatic updates you're gonna have to
  • come right back to this area and then
  • double click on Windows Update
  • change the startup type back to the way
  • it was an automatic delayed start click
  • apply in the lower right well it takes
  • its time and then click start to start it back up ok they don't we'll go right
  • back the way it was before when it was installed installing updates in the
  • background ok now alright and unlike said that this approach applies toWindows Home and one does professional alright second approach will only apply
  • to Windows Professional the second approach is by utilizing the group policies all right so we're gonna do is gonna press the Windows key on the lower
  • left of your keyboard between the
  • control and all key and then when it
  • will press the little arse and Raymontogether once the run command opens I'm
  • gonna type in MMC which is Delain's and Michael Ames and Michael C's and Charles and then when I press Enter or click OKwe're gonna click yes at the UAC alright now this is the Microsoft management
  • connection control the Microsoft management console sorry we're gonna go
  • ahead and expand this and we women largest so what you're gonna do is click on
  • file an upper left and then click on add or remove snap-in next you're gonna
  • scroll down the list on the left and double click on the group policy object and
  • then click finish for the local computer and then click OK alright next I'm gonna go over to where I'm gonna stretch you sound just a little bit so we can see why we're gonna go any explain local expand
  • local computer policy alright then we're going to expand computer configuration alright then we're going to expand administrative templates and then we're
  • gonna finally expand windows components all right let me stretch just a little bit more so we can still see alright so
  • what we're gonna do is we're gonna scroll down on the left a little bit and we're going to double click on WindowsUpdate alright next over on the right we are going to locate configure automatic
  • updates alright should be the fifth one down we're gonna double click it right now by default this particular policy is not configured alright so what we're gonna do is we're going to enable
  • it on the in the upper left and then
  • right down here under configure automatic updating we have some options
  • now all right we have notified for download note fires for install auto download and notify for install auto-download and schedule install and allow local admin to choose setting now what
  • I'm going to do is select notify for
  • download and notify for installed alright this way it will prompt you to download and also prompt you to install the updates thereby hopefully bypassing
  • a lot of them you know what is bypassing some possible driver conflicts
  • in the future all right so all you have
  • to do at this point is click OK alright
  • and you can see where it says it enabled all right now after you've done this you're gonna have to go ahead and
  • restart your system for this setting to take effect alright it will not take
  • effect until you restart your system, ok alright so all we have to do we can go ahead and just close out of the closeout of the console here all right
  • and that basically does it with the two approaches to disable to automaticupdating within the Windows 10 operating system
